Advising

I have advised theses and dissertations for students in the Roger H. Ogden Honors College, M.A. Art History, M.F.A. Studio Art, and Doctor of Design in Cultural Preservation, among other degree paths at LSU. Under my supervision, students have conducted research on topics such as Black Eco-Feminist art, 1980s Queer photographic practices, Contemporary Iranian photography and film, African art collections in HBCUs, the evolution of Nigerian masquerade, and affective registers of contemporary representations of enslavement in African diaspora art, among other subjects. My advisees have earned recognitions through the Distinguished Undergraduate Researcher and Distinguished Communicator Medal programs, and several have continued on to pursue careers in the arts as well as graduate study at prestigious institutions across the country.
